Energy efficiency in newly built bomes: How to save in the long run

Energy efficiency is becoming an increasingly important factor in the design and construction of newly built homes. At iDOM, our goal is to ensure that our clients live in modern, comfortable homes that provide significant long-term savings on maintenance costs.

How can we achieve all this?

Modern insulation technologies

One of the most crucial steps in enhancing energy efficiency is the application of proper insulation. We use high-quality thermal insulation materials in our buildings to minimize heat loss. The exterior walls are equipped with 15 cm thick thermal insulation, significantly reducing heating and cooling costs. For intermediate floors, ÖKOCELL CSEND lightweight concrete soundproofing is used as a floating layer, effectively reducing impact noise as well.

Energy-efficient windows and doors

Modern windows and doors also play a key role in energy efficiency. The windows and doors we offer feature triple glazing and warm-edge, middle-seal plastic frames, which effectively prevent heat loss. Electric shutters are installed above the facade windows, and they can also be equipped with mosquito nets upon request.

Heat pumps: The heating solution of the future

One of the most innovative and efficient ways to increase energy efficiency is the use of heat pumps. We install central heat pumps on the roof, which provide heating, cooling, and hot water supply for the apartments. The heat pumps extract heat from the environment and use it. In winter, they heat, and in summer, they cool, ensuring a comfortable temperature year-round. In the summer, the “waste heat” generated during hot water production can also be used for cooling the apartments, resulting in additional energy savings.

The Beluga Bay building will feature ceiling-based heating and cooling systems on the residential floors, using an active concrete system, while underfloor heating will be installed in the wet rooms. Towel rails with electric heating elements will be integrated into the bathrooms. The system is controllable via smart thermostats, which can be pre-programmed and remotely controlled.

Smart home systems

The use of smart home technologies is also crucial in optimizing energy consumption. Our smart home systems allow for continuous monitoring and optimization of energy usage. The Smart Pierre system in every apartment enables control of ceiling heating-cooling and underfloor heating.

Energy-efficient lighting

Energy-efficient lighting is an essential component of newly built apartments. iDOM offers LED lighting systems that consume significantly less energy compared to traditional bulbs, while also having a longer lifespan. With the use of timers and motion sensors, unnecessary energy consumption in common areas can be avoided.

We know that energy efficiency is a key factor in the design and construction of newly built apartments. That’s why we are committed to offering our clients the most advanced and suitable solutions.
